Practice determiners in sentences. Determiners are words that come at the beginning of a noun phrase. Determiners can be classified into four categories: articles, demonstratives, possessives and quantifiers. Have a go and make your own sentences with the types of determiners poster above and sentences below.
- Article determiners: a, an, the
- A dog is a pet.
- An apple is a fruit.
- This is the pond.
- Demonstrative determiners: this, that, these, those
- You cannot walk this dog.
- I like that pizza.
- I use these chopsticks.
- Do you know those boys?
- Possessive determiners: my, your, his, her, its, our, their
- This is my pen.
- I like your eyes.
- His name is Rory.
- Her name is Beth.
- The snake ate its prey.
- This is our home.
- Their children are kind.
- Quantifier determiners: many, much, more, most, some, one, two...
- I want two eggs and one onion.
- Who has the most pizza?
- We don't have many toys.
- I don't have much money.
- I have some candy.
- They have a few dollars.
- She has a little flour.
- I don't have any cheese.
